Brief
Enhancement List is a workflow for identifying the performance gaps based on the Gap Analysis.
The workflow produces the Enhancement List which is a ranking of the Enhancements with the best on the top.
Routine execution of the identified Enhancements unlocks the pathway to Production Potential and results in more production, improved recovery and increased earnings.
Workflow
First Production Potential is calculated:
WHP and WOP
- Wellhead Potential (WHP) - is the maximum rate that can be achieved with existing well equipment with no workover (Choke open, Speedup the ESP, etc).
- Workover Potential (WOP) - is the maximum rate that can be achieved with workover. The assumption is that the current skin will be mitigated with better completion during the workover. And the largest tubing practical that will fit in the current well bore will be used.
Below is the Production Potential calculation logic of the E&P Portal:
Well Primary Fluid | Well Operating Type | Wellhead Potential (WHP) | Workover Potential (WOP) |
---|---|---|---|
Gas | Flowing | Calculated with Nodal Analysis using the PQplot by setting the flowing wellhead pressure (FWHP) equal to the current flowing line pressure (FLP) at the well head. Use a current value of JD. |
Calculated with Nodal Analysis using the PQplot by using the largest tubing practical that will fit in the current well bore with a FWHP equal to the current FLP. The largest tubing size is approximately the casing drift diameter minus the tubing coupling diameter > 0.5 inches for clearance (see Pipe Catalog). Use a JD = 0.13. |
Oil | Flowing | Calculated with Nodal Analysis using the PQplot by setting the flowing wellhead pressure (FWHP) equal to the current flowing line pressure (FLP) at the well head. Use a current value of JD. |

"WO POTENTIAL" is calculated by using the largest tubing practical that will fit in the current well bore with a WHP equal to current line pressure.
две ветки: flowing (tub, ann, tub+ann) not flowing (или ESP или PCP и тп) две категории: ENHANCED WO ENHANCED по flowing: ENHANCED - так же как в Gas Enh List WO ENHANCED - AOF по not flowing: ENHANCED - считаем BHP при Hd=Htub, считаем ql для этого BHP через IPR WO ENHANCED - AOF для JD при расчете AOF: GAS - if JD<0.13 JD=0.13 else JD OIL - if JD<1.27 then JD=1.27 else JD
Misha, I think that we need two potential calculations(columns) for flowing wells:
1. "WHP POTENTIAL" is calculated
by by setting the WHP equal to the current line pressure at the well head. Use estimated current Jd.
2. "WO POTENTIAL" is calculated by
using the largest tubing practical that will fit in the current well bore with a WHP equal to current line pressure. Use a Jd ~ 0.13. The assumption is that we will mitigate the current skin with better completion during the workover. The largest tubing size is approximately the casing drift diameter minus the tubing coupling diameter > 0.75 Inches for clearance. Then convert this to the nearest standard tubing OD, 2 7/8, 3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2, 5, 5 1/2, 6, 6 5/8, 7, 7 5/8, etc,
The potential gap should be sorted
based on the "WHP POTENTIAL" since this is the easiest and cheapest enhancement to execute.
Your horseshoe should be based
on the "WO POTENTIAL" since this Is the actual potential of the currently constructed well bore.
You should always display AOFs
in one of the columns.
These rules apply to all flowing
wells unless the workover installs artificial lift of some sort.
Artificial lift is a different sheet and we can spec it later, since it doesn't apply to us at this time.
There should be on two categories,
current and enhanced.
Enhanced is Jdfrac=1.0, Pwf=fluid level at pump depth, Pipe=big.
If enhanced q > all lift capacities that good, must engineer a higher performance system.
For enhanced we used the AOF at Yukos.
Need to develop a simple algorithm for Jd. You can't get Jd=1 for high k wells. Look at Cfd vs Np, etc to develop simple "estimate" algorithm.
Production Potential is used to rank the Enhancements.
