STOIIP

STOIIP stands for stock tank oil initially in place. Equals to the volume of the reservoir oil at the surface conditions.

Equation

 STOIIP = \frac{HCPV}{B_o} = \frac{A * h * \phi * S_o}{B_o}

where

 A = Area, m2
 B_o = Oil formation volume factor, m2
 h = Net pay, oil saturated thickness, m
 HCPV = Hydrocarbon pore volume, m3
 \phi = Porosity, fraction
 S_o = Oil saturation, fraction
 STOIIP = Stock tank oil initially in place, m3
