Brief
Enhancement is an action to close the performance gap of the Well, Block, Pattern or a Reservoir.
Enhancement has associated cost and results in the incremental oil recovery (IOR).
In the E&P Portal Enhancements are identified by the Enhancement List.
In the E&P Portal Enhancements are tracked by the Enhancement Tracking.
Well Enhancements
From most $/bbl effective to least:
- Choke open
- Pump Optimization
- ESP (converting the flowing well to ESP; upgrading the ESP etc)
- Acid Job
- Reperforation
- Frac
- Multistage Frac
- Sidetrack
- Drilling New Well
Example:
Block, Pattern, Reservoir Enhancements
- Well Enhancement
- Convert producing well to injector
- Shut in inefficient injection well
- Increase/Decrease well injection rate
- Add/squeeze Perforations at producing or injection wells
- Drilling the infill production/injection well
